Harishchandragad is one of the most legendary hill forts in the Sahyadri range of Maharashtra, standing at an altitude of 1,424 metres (4,672 feet) in the Ahmednagar district. Dating back to the 6th century, this fort has witnessed the rule of multiple dynasties including the Kalachuris, Mughals, and Marathas, making it a treasure trove of historical and archaeological significance. The crown jewel of Harishchandragad is Konkan Kada — a massive vertical cliff face that drops over 500 metres straight down, offering one of the most awe-inspiring views in all of Western India. On a clear day, you can see the vast Konkan coastline stretching endlessly below. Our Off Route Adventure trek package takes you via the Pachnai or Khireshwar route, passing through the ancient Kedareshwar Cave — home to a unique Shiva lingam surrounded by chest-deep water — and the sacred Saptatirtha Pushkarini lake at the summit.
